Kim and Claude’s love story began with a well-meaning set-up during a visit to a mutual friend in ICU in September 2015 — proof that romance can bloom in the most unexpected places.

Kim was instantly smitten with Claude’s impressively toned calves, confidently showcased in a pair of shorts, while Claude was completely won over by Kim’s vibrant personality… and her remarkably red sunburn.

From that day on, their relationship grew through laughter, adventure, and Claude’s ongoing quest to dazzle Kim in the kitchen. In the early days, it was prawn spring rolls. Ten years later, it’s evolved into enthusiastically pickling just about anything he can get his hands on. Kim has lovingly taste-tested every phase of his culinary journey.

Life with Kim, however, is never predictable. Her spontaneous spirit ensures that every chapter of their story is filled with fun, surprises, and just the right amount of chaos.

In May 2025, during a romantic afternoon at Langebaan Lagoon — with the tide quickly rolling in — Claude decided the moment had arrived. He got down on one knee and asked Kim to spend forever with him, telling her that she makes him want to be a better man.

Now happily engaged, Kim and Claude are planning their dream wedding and looking forward to a lifetime of love, laughter, adventure, and undoubtedly a great deal more pickling — together.
